Compared to their regular original medium roast that I also keep around, this house blend has a stronger coffee character to it, almost like McCafe if you've tried that before. At $5.59, this is an incredible bargain. I typically buy this at my local store, but they're always playing games with the price, ranging anywhere from $7 to $13. You need to buy multiple containers, clip coupons, or catch a Tuesday sale for a decent deal. The seal keeps it fresh for quite a while. When I serve it to relatives who usually spend much more on their coffee, they're shocked when I tell them it's just Maxwell House. For the price of a couple of cups at a specialty coffee shop, you get this entire container. You're essentially paying about 1% of what a gourmet coffee shop would charge per cup, making it roughly 105 cups for the price of one premium cup.

I wanted to try this well-known American brand after spotting it on Amazon, but it's quite different from what I'm used to in Australia—honestly pretty hard to drink. I suppose it depends on your taste preferences, but this is similar to why Starbucks struggled so much in Australia. While millions of Americans love it, if you're Australian, I'd probably skip it.
